چکیده

Origins Of The Technology Wire Wrapping is a technology that has been with us for over fifty years, and is still going strong in various telecommunications and electronics applications. It was originally developed in the late 1940’s by Bell Labs in the U.S.; they needed to develop a new system of interconnection of the copper cabling in their local exchange facilities, also known as Central Offices. Up until that time, soldering was the commonly used method for cable interconnection – but this approach created several problems in these applications.

Parametric design of tri-axial nested Helmholtz coils.

This paper provides an optimal parametric design for tri-axial nested Helmholtz coils, which are used to generate a uniform magnetic field with controllable magnitude and direction. Circular and square coils, both with square cross section, are considered. Practical considerations such as wire selection, wire-wrapping efficiency, wire bending radius, choice of power supply, and inductance and t...

A High-Sensitivity Current Sensor Utilizing CrNi Wire and Microfiber Coils

We obtain an extremely high current sensitivity by wrapping a section of microfiber on a thin-diameter chromium-nickel wire. Our detected current sensitivity is as high as 220.65 nm/A2 for a structure length of only 35 μm. Such sensitivity is two orders of magnitude higher than the counterparts reported in the literature. Analysis shows that a higher resistivity or/and a thinner diameter of the...

Electrostatic complexation of spheres and chains under elastic stress

We consider the complexation of highly charged semiflexible polyelectrolytes with oppositely charged macroions. On the basis of scaling arguments we discuss how the resulting complexes depend on the persistence length of the polyelectrolyte, the salt concentration, and the sizes and charges of the chain and the macroions. We study first the case of complexation with a single sphere and calculat...
